Introducing Nauticam Weapon LT

The RED Weapon Camera BRAIN

The RED cinema camera system revolves around the BRAIN which houses the sensor and to which all additional components are attached. This modular approach allows the user to use only the parts they need and create a streamlined purpose-fit rig.

The RED Weapon works off the DSMC2 form factor, the smallest and lightest RED BRAIN to date. Weapon BRAINS can be purchased with one of three sensors, each with unique characteristics and resolutions.

Monstro 8K VV

Featuring the Vista Vision full-frame 8K sensor, this is the latest RED Weapon. The 35.4MP CMOS sensor offers full frame lens coverage and over 17 stops of dynamic range.

Helium 8K S35

The Helium 8K 35.4MP CMOS sensor offers Super 35 format and received the highest rating of any sensor on DxOMark.

Gemini 5K S35

Gemini is RED's highest sensitivity sensor to date and offers significantly increased performance in low-light settings and improved performance in shadows.

Dragon-X 6K S35

Dragon-X features the industry workhorse and award-winning DRAGON sensor, now with IPP2, delivering 6K cinematic imagery in a Super 35 format.

Additional Weapon Specs

All Weapon BRAINS are capable of data write speeds of 300 MB/s and are able to write simultaneously in REDCODE RAW as well as Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR/HD allowing for a faster and more streamlined post-processing workflow.

8K offers 17x more resolution than HD and 4x more than 4K allowing for unparalleled sharpness.

RED DSMC2 BRAINS can be configured to accept Canon EF, Nikon, Leica-M or PL lenses by swapping lens mounts. Changing lens mounts is as simple as removing four screws. This also gives access to the OLPF which can also be swapped.

The Nauticam Weapon LT Underwater Housing

The Nauticam Weapon LT housing is the smallest, lightest, and easiest to operate underwater housing for RED Cameras available. On location, the usability of this system is unmatched. Set up and tear down in minutes, easily swap batteries and recording media while the camera is mounted in the housing, and lens changes in seconds. The small size and light weight dramatically decrease resistance in water, especially when free diving.

This version of the housing uses the N120 port system which allows for the use of even the largest diameter DSLR lenses such as the Canon Ultra-Wide Zoom EF 11-24mm f/4 USM. When paired with the Monstro VV sensor the Weapon will capture the full 126º05' rectilinear field of view.

External Monitor Support

The Weapon LT housing supports the use of optional bulkheads to support a variety of external monitors with either SDI or LEMO connectivity. With LEMO support the use of the REDTOUCH monitor is possible removing the need for monitor battery changes as was necessary with SDI monitors like the SmallHD.

Integrated Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is shipped with Weapon LT as standard equipment. Combined with an accessory vacuum valve (PN 25625), this monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.

The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

Patented Port Locking System

Unveiled on the very first Nauticam DSLR housing in 2009, this locking lever has become a signature of the Nauticam brand.  No twisting or threading action is required to mount a port, and it locks securely in place with this lever.  Nauticam also offers locking port extensions, meaning a dome will never twist, even when used with a long extension ring.

Mission Control

Nauticam engineers have given the discriminating shooter quick and convenient access to all essential exposure and custom controls of the RED Sidekick from the Weapon LT housing handles.

Zoom and Focus Control Knobs

The Weapon LT features oversized mechanical zoom and focus knobs with erasable surfaces for focus/zoom position marks.  The internal gearing is moved away quickly via a small external lever to allow removal of the camera without disruption of focus/zoom gear alignment.

Double Battery Support

With its extended rear cover, the Weapon LT allow for a double-stacked battery array when using supported battery systems allowing for additional time between battery changes.

SDI/LEMO Monitor Support

SDI and LEMO monitor support is now available with supported REDTOUCH and third-party monitors including the SmallHD via optional bulkheads.

Tripod and Skid Mounting Points

Quickly switch between optional tripod legs or skids with four integrated attachment points for either 1" ball mounts for tripod legs or skids.  1" ball mounts can also be attached to the skids for ultimate flexibility.

How long will it take for my order to arrive after I make payment?

That depends on where you live and whether we have an item in stock or not. While we do have many items in stock, we don't carry everything. If you need an item in a hurry, it's a good idea to contact us and find out if your item is in stock.

If we have it in stock, we can usually send it out as soon as we receive payment, or you can pick it up. If an item is not in stock, we'll need to order it from our suppliers, which means it can take 1-2 weeks to arrive at your door (usually closer to a week).

Sometimes delivery can take longer, if our manufacturers are out of stock, for example, but this is unusual - we let customers know as soon as possible if something like this happens.

Update 18/12/2020: There are some production delays at present that may increase wait times on items like housings. We apologise for the inconvenience. If there are any delays with your order, we will communicate this immediately.

How do you ship my orders?

We use New Zealand Post and CourierPost to ship orders. Our default is courier, though you may organise an alternative with us by contacting us directly. CourierPost aims for next day delivery nationwide between major towns and cities in the North Island. South Island delivery can take two days. If you require next-day delivery in South Island, choose the express shipping option for the South Island. If you spend over $250 get your shipping for free!

When you buy something from us, the price is literally exactly what it says on the tin.

If you buy something from an overseas supplier, that is most definitely not the case. While the product might seem like a great deal on screen, it's important to understand customs and import costs.

In addition to the ticket price on an overseas purchase, whatever the exchange rate is on the day (this can fluctuate wildly - trust us, we know), there are also tariffs, GST and border processing fees. This can easily add upwards of 25% to the ticket price. Items costing over NZ$1000 also incur import entry transaction fees.

In addition to these extra costs, Customs clearance can also cause delays. Sea Tech has been importing for years - we've got this down to a fine art, and we've built relationships with customs that help our items clear quickly.

By buying from Sea Tech, you avoid all the headaches, delays and extra costs. We handle all this stuff for you, so you don't even have to think about it.
