Nauticam Flash Trigger for Canon

The Flash Trigger for Canon works with Canon cameras without popup flashes, like the EOS 5D Mark III, the EOS 6D, EOS 1D X and EOS 1D C, providing dependable, rapid-fire flash triggering over fiber.

Flash triggers allow motor drive shooting sequences, perfect for fast moving action.  Since the popup flash is not used, the camera does not have to wait for the popup flash to recycle, meaning faster shooting, less heat buildup, and longer camera battery life.  Shoot as fast as your external strobes can handle!

This flash trigger is manual only; automatic flash exposure (TTL) is not currently enabled – a tool for reliable, fast external flash firing.

Supported strobes include the Inon Z-240 Type 4, D-2000 Type 4, S-2000, Sea & Sea YS-250*, YS-01, and YS-D1.

Shooting with Fiber Optic cables means shooting with confidence. There are no sync cables to flood or corrode, meaning much higher reliability, and the strobe can even be removed from the rig, while underwater, for off-board lighting opportunities. Nauticam fiber optic cables have the highest light throughput of any optical cables on the market, making the Nauticam Flash Trigger that much more reliable.

The Flash Trigger for Canon weighs under 70 grams, including batteries, and mounts on the camera hotshoe, locking in place with a locking lever. It uses 2x CR3032 batteries, which combined with the highly efficient LED trigger lights, provide for thousands of flashes (10000 estimated). An LED status indicator informs the user that the unit is on and functional. It fits perfectly into the supported housings, listed below.

New housings for Canon SLR cameras will support the Flash Trigger as well.

Supported Housings:

  • NA-5DMKIII
  • NA-1DX
  • NA-6D
  • NA-7DMKII
  • NA-5DSR
  • NA-1DXII
  • NA-5DIV

* 2013 model YS-250 strobes have been tested and function properly.  Earlier models may have less sensitive slave sensors and be incompatible.
* Nauticam Flash Trigger is not compatible with Sea&Sea D2 strobe.

How long will it take for my order to arrive after I make payment?

That depends on where you live and whether we have an item in stock or not. While we do have many items in stock, we don't carry everything. If you need an item in a hurry, it's a good idea to contact us and find out if your item is in stock.

If we have it in stock, we can usually send it out as soon as we receive payment, or you can pick it up. If an item is not in stock, we'll need to order it from our suppliers, which means it can take 1-2 weeks to arrive at your door (usually closer to a week).

Sometimes delivery can take longer, if our manufacturers are out of stock, for example, but this is unusual - we let customers know as soon as possible if something like this happens.

How do you ship my orders?

We use New Zealand Post and CourierPost to ship orders. Our default is courier, though you may organise an alternative with us by contacting us directly. CourierPost aims for next day delivery nationwide between major towns and cities in the North Island. South Island delivery can take two days. If you require next-day delivery in South Island, choose the express shipping option for the South Island. If you spend over $250 get your shipping for free!

When you buy something from us, the price is literally exactly what it says on the tin.

If you buy something from an overseas supplier, that is most definitely not the case. While the product might seem like a great deal on screen, it's important to understand customs and import costs.

In addition to the ticket price on an overseas purchase, whatever the exchange rate is on the day (this can fluctuate wildly - trust us, we know), there are also tariffs, GST and border processing fees. This can easily add upwards of 25% to the ticket price. Items costing over NZ$1000 also incur import entry transaction fees.

In addition to these extra costs, Customs clearance can also cause delays. Sea Tech has been importing for years - we've got this down to a fine art, and we've built relationships with customs that help our items clear quickly.

By buying from Sea Tech, you avoid all the headaches, delays and extra costs. We handle all this stuff for you, so you don't even have to think about it.
