Fiber Optic Adapter (1st Gen)

Converts the electrical bulkhead of any Ikelite DS strobe into a fiber optic port.

This product has been replaced by the Fiber Optic Converter, Product Number 4401.1, which features heightened sensitivity for use specifically with SEA&SEA or Nauticam housings with internal electrical-to-optical flash triggering devices. The original Fiber Optic Adapter, Product Number 4401, is not sensitive enough to trigger reliably with these LED slave devices. Please contact us for possible upgrade opportunities.

The Fiber Optic Adapter (1st Gen), Product Number 4401, is usable with most systems where the strobe is triggered by the camera's built-in flash.

The Fiber Optic Converter automatically configures itself for compatibility with both pre-flash and non pre-flash camera modes. No setting of small switches or confusion over number of pre-flashes. Simply turn on your strobe and take one picture to configure.

This adapter is a manual exposure (non-TTL) trigger only. The strobe's output may be adjusted using the manual power settings built into the strobe (varies by model).

An individual Fiber Optic Converter is needed for each strobe. Use of two strobes requires two Fiber Optic Converters. The Fiber Optic Converter supports DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160 and DS161 strobes.

International Shipping

At the moment, our website is only set up to ship within New Zealand. If you live outside New Zealand, please contact us and tell us your full shipping address, phone number, and what you want to purchase. Please note that our free shipping offer applies to NZ shipping only. Our preferred method of shipping internationally is DHL.

How long will it take for my order to arrive after I make payment?

That depends on where you live and whether we have an item in stock or not. While we do have many items in stock, we don't carry everything. If you need an item in a hurry, it's a good idea to contact us and find out if your item is in stock.

If we have it in stock, we can usually send it out as soon as we receive payment, or you can pick it up. If an item is not in stock, we'll need to order it from our suppliers, which means it can take 1-2 weeks to arrive at your door (usually closer to a week).

Sometimes delivery can take longer, if our manufacturers are out of stock, for example, but this is unusual - we let customers know as soon as possible if something like this happens.

How do you ship my NZ orders?

We use New Zealand Post Courier to ship orders. You may organise an alternative with us by contacting us directly. New Zealand Post aims for next-day delivery nationwide between major towns and cities in the North Island. South Island delivery can take two days. If you require next-day delivery in South Island, choose the express shipping option for the South Island. If you spend over $250 get your shipping for free!
